Baxter is a very stout 1,100 lb 14.1 hand, 8 year old pintaloosa draft cross (spotted draft/appaloosa) who can be ridden english or western by children and adults, as he takes up a lot of leg and can carry larger riders. He loves to trail ride alone or in a group and will lead or follow, crosses bridges, water, trappy conditions, carefully walks over logs (will also jump them if asked), also will not get upset if horses pass him or leave him behind.
Baxter is the same on and off property as we have taken him on to multiple hunter paces, a day long trail ride at James River State Park where we stood tied to a tree during lunch, and an obstacle challenge clinic. We introduced Baxter to hunting correctly late summer by taking him on houndwalks where he never batted an eye. He has been hunting 2nd and 3rd flight with Bedford Hunt during early season and plan to continue to hunt him until he finds his forever home. In the arena he will walk, trot and canter and has jumped up to 2’3 with ease. More of a kick ride, but has his own motor once he’s in gear. Baxter has been used for beginner and intermediate riding lessons, but we believe he would love to have his own person or family.
His training will continue until he finds his place. Best suited for an advanced beginner and up as he started late and is still green. Price to increase with training and experience, PPE with clean navicular and hock radiographs in hand.
The Executive Order (Murphy)
This handsome buckskin gelding goes by the name of “Murphy” and is as easy to be around as he is on the eyes. A sweet guy who loves his treat ball almost as much as getting attention, he is in search of someone who wants an easy ride (English or Western) in the arena, the field or on the trails.
He’s a great candidate for hunter under saddle, basic English or Western dressage, western pleasure, or someone looking for a great all-around pleasure mount to ride mainly on the flat. He is also willing over logs, up and down small banks, and he has jumped 2’ single jumps. Murphy has been ridden by different riders over the last few weeks he’s been here with us, and he rides the same every time.
He’s a safe mount and more of a kick ride, yet sensitive to his rider’s nerves which makes him best suited to a confident and balanced rider.
Breeding: Presidential Order x Max Reynolds Rose
Lolita
We purchased Lolita as a weanling in 2019 and have started her slowly and correctly. We first worked on ground manners and desensitization, progressing to where she is today as a well-started four-year-old ready to go in any direction.
Lolita has been to off-site trail rides at James River State Park where she was exposed to hounds and hunting at casting. She has also attended a small local schooling show where she swept the ground poles division, bringing home only blue ribbons. She is brave and rides the same in the arena as she does in the field or on the trail.
Lolita rides both English and Western, working from a strong foundation of extensive ground work. She is confidently going w/t/c, has a great stop, and the beginnings of a strong turn around. We foresee Lolita continuing to develop into a great multi-discipline prospect including but not limited to: ranch work, trail, foxhunting, obstacle challenges, games, and mounted shooting.
